AI research needs clear rules. We help you set them.
Universities and research institutes deal with the limits of the research exemption, data regimes and ethics. We help you set up projects so that they stand up to evaluation and audit.
What organisations come to us with
“Where does the AI Act research exemption end?”
The line between research and putting a system into service is not always obvious. It needs to be understood at the design stage of the project.
“Can we use this data in the project?”
Data regimes under the Data Governance Act and the Data Act, together with data protection, decide what can be done with the data.
“We are preparing a Horizon Europe or Digital Europe application.”
We help with the project proposal, the consortium and the governance structures.
What we do for you
Our offer rests on three pillars. Use what you need. They can be combined.
- Compliance of AI research projects
- Limits of the AI Act research exemption
- DGA and Data Act data regimes
- Ethical framework
- Expert lectures and guest teaching (modules 7 and 9)
- Preparing educational programmes and curricula
- Horizon Europe and Digital Europe: preparing project proposals
- Setting up consortia and governance structures
- Transferring results into practice
A university team is preparing a project in which it trains a model on data from several institutions. Only when the consortium agreement is being signed does it become clear that nobody has decided who owns the data, under what conditions it can be reused and who bears responsibility for the outputs. Such questions have to be settled in the project design, not during its implementation.
